Esthetics Technology (Continuing Education)

Short Term

Esthetics is the beautification of the skin. Students receive intensive training in the areas of facials, hair removal, and make-up application to become a licensed skin care specialist in the state of North Carolina. Students will have the opportunity to serve patrons in the salon clinic for services. The curriculum focuses on infection control and safety while performing services.

Upon successful completion of the course, 麻豆影视 students are eligible to register to take the state board exam with the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts Examiners.


Textbooks are covered in the cost of the registration fee. A student kit containing required materials is provided. Students are required to purchase a dark hunter green uniform and black, comfortable shoes. Please note that the class and the state exams are in English. View the learning outcomes for the course.

This is a two-part course. The $2,504.50 cost of the program is broken down into two payments:

  1. The first payment of $1,418.25 is due at the time of program registration and includes tuition, a kit, and books.
  2. The second payment of $1,086.25 is due at the time of registration for the second half of the program.

This course qualifies for financial assistance.


Visit the Esthetics Spa! Customers 18 years of age or older, can receive facials, waxing, and specialty services through the 麻豆影视 Esthetics Spa. The spa, is staffed by 麻豆影视 Esthetics Technology students who complete 100 percent of the work.

COS-3102EA Esthetician I

Esthetician I is the first of two courses in the Esthetician program and will cover subjects such as skincare, hair removal, lash lift, brow lamination, infection control in the beauty industry, skin physiology, anatomy, and microbiology. Completion of both courses in the program will educate students in the theoretical and practical skills, the safety precautions and measures, and the proper infection control and disinfection procedures. The proficiencies acquired through completion of both courses will prepare the student to achieve licensure in the state of North Carolina and obtain an entry-level position in esthetics or in a related field.

COS-3102EB Esthetician II

Esthetician II is a continuation of Esthetician I. Students will learn Electrotherapy, Facials with LED Light Therapy, Advanced Treatments, Professional Development and Makeup Application. and will have an opportunity to become certified in Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peels. Students will apply their knowledge and skill set from information learned in the Esthetician I course and obtain practical experience on live clients in the student clinic.
