Apprenticeship for Students
Student apprenticeships are available for current students, recent graduates, incumbant workers, experienced workers looking to shift their career focus to a different field, and military veterans transitioning to civilian life.
Requirements
In order to be eligible for apprenticeship, you must be:
- 16 years old or older
- Have a high school graduate or high school equivalency certificate or currently be enrolled in an academic program that will lead to a high school diploma or equivalency.
- Have a GPA of 2.00 or above
Types of Apprenticeships
Pre-Apprenticeship | Apprenticeship |
---|---|
Designed for students 16 years or older who have an interest in a specific field and prepares them for apprenticeship programs where students can choose to transition into full-time employment while attending school. | For students 16 years or older who have selected their career pathway and want to train in all aspects of the occupation as they work full- or part-time. |
May include class and or on-the-job training. | Includes class attendance in a major related to their chosen industry as well as on-the-job training. |
May or may not be paid. | Provides wages on a scale that increases based on experience and skills. |
Upon completion students are eligible for the community college tuition waiver for the duration of the time in the apprenticeship and a nationally recognized certificate for participation from . | Upon completion of an ASAP program, students receive a nationally recognized certificate for participation from and the US Department of Labor along with the other credentials they earn at Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ. |
