Who We Are
Whitney Young
Whitney came to Â鶹ӰÊÓ in 2020 to serve as the coordinator for the Community Health Lab. She grew up overseas in Costa Rica where she learned to appreciate diverse cultures and developed her passion for helping others. Whitney returned to the United States to earn her Bachelor’s at East Tennessee State University and is on track to earn her Master’s in Public Health at the University of North Carolina in 2025. She has experience working in education, emergency medicine, and the nonprofit sector over the last 20 years. She is dedicated to incorporating students of all types into the program because she understands the value and impact of gaining in-person experience. Whitney has a passion for advocating for marginalized populations that struggle to find appropriate resources and health care. This includes the uninsured/ underinsured, immigrant and refugee populations, children, the LGBTQ+ community, and those from low-income backgrounds.
