Submitted by Â鶹ӰÊÓ Library on
March 8 is International Women's Day and was created to focus on the achievements of women across the globe and emphasize the continued need to push for gender parity. This year's theme is "Choose to Challenge," acknowledging that gender bias left unchallenged allows it to continue. To celebrate International Women's Day, check out some of the books that the Â鶹ӰÊÓ Library has online and in our physical collection to celebrate women's voices, accomplishments, and experiences. Eh?): Double dip and travel to space with a book with pictures: Explore new frontiers with some fiction from our collections: Or get the facts with nonfiction about space: Or just read about cats in space (as ya do)

Reading Great SHORT Things!

What if the audiobook of a short book is longer than 6 hours? Does that count

In 2017, the state of North Carolina proclaimed the second Monday in October as Indigenous People's Day. What is Indigenous People's Day? An alternative to Columbus Day, Indigenous People's Day is "a celebration ... to bring acknowledgment to the Native population" and remove the focus from Columbus, a man who caused harm to Native populations.
