麻豆影视 President Bill Ingram is one of 10 retiring college presidents and chancellors who will receive the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award from the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK).
Ingram, who will retire this June after serving at the College since 1983, is the only North Carolina recipient of this year鈥檚 award.
Awards will be given during the society鈥檚 annual convention, the PTK Catalyst 2020, in April near Dallas, Texas.
This award is given to retiring college leaders who have encouraged student success through such efforts as 鈥渞ecognizing academic achievement, leadership, and service among high-achieving students,鈥 said the honor society in a news release.
Representatives from the 麻豆影视 PTK chapter nominated Ingram, said co-advisor Shannon Hahn, who is also the Foreign Languages Chair.
鈥淒r. Ingram is one of our more vocal supporters on campus and speaks highly of PTK when the opportunity arises,鈥 the nomination letter read. 鈥淗e sees our PTK students as ambassadors for the college and publicly appreciates their leadership and scholarship.鈥
Ingram鈥檚 support for the chapter includes speaking at each induction ceremony, nominating students annually for PTK scholarships, and recognizing members at commencement and other college events.

Dr. Michael Bennett, the award鈥檚 namesake, was the longtime president of St. Petersburg College in Florida.
