Looking for something to read but don't want to leave your increasingly cozy home both because fall weather is coming (periodically, sporadically) and because, well, pandemic?
Well, try out the Home Grown eBook Collection, available through the on the library homepage (H for Home Grown).
This collection comes to North Carolina libraries through NC LIVE and offers more than 3,700 ebooks from North Carolina publishers, though the content is not just NC-related.
The Home Grown eBook Collection provides unlimited simultaneous user access, which means no holds, no checkout limits, and no wait lists. If you see it, you can get it!
So why wait? Let’s get started!
First, navigate to the on our library database list. If you're off-campus, Â鶹ӰÊÓ students, staff, and faculty will log in using their (the same as Sakai and Self-Service). Not affiliated with Â鶹ӰÊÓ Tech? Check with your local public library for access.
Once you are logged in, choose categories and collections to explore and find a book!
You can search collections grouped by genre (called Curations) from fiction, non-fiction, and YA categories to find the perfect book to download on your mobile device and read for free!
After you find a book you are interested in, get started in four steps:
1.Hover your mouse of the book.
2. You'll see three buttons pop up: Read This, View Details, and Favorite.
3.&²Ô²ú²õ±è;°ä±ô¾±³¦°ì Read This.
4. You'll start on the cover of the book. Click toward the right side of the cover (and following pages) to page forward. Click toward the left side of any page to page back
For more options:
Look in the upper left corner of the book view to find the gear icon for Settings.A menu will open that offers more options—such as favorite, bookmark, or note-- for using the book, many of which will require creating or signing into a free private account. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
Click on the X in the upper right corner to close the book
To download:
Home Grown eBooks can only be downloaded to a mobile device or read in a browser. Biblioboard, which hosts the Home Grown collection, has an app on the

- Amazon app store (Kindle Fire)
