�鶹Ӱ��’s Transition to New Quizzes in Canvas: What You Need to Know

We’re excited to provide an important update on our transition to New Quizzes in Canvas, a change that will enhance the quizzing experience for both instructors and students. Below, you’ll find key dates, training sessions, and resources to help you navigate this transition smoothly.

Key Dates for the Transition

The official switch to New Quizzes will begin soon, and here are the critical dates you need to know:

March 31, 2025: New Quizzes will be activated in Canvas Practice Courses.
May 12, 2025: New Quizzes will be available as an option for instructors in their live courses.
May 2026: This transition project is set to be fully completed.

It’s important to note that New Quizzes is not mandatory right away. While the system will be available to instructors starting on May 12, the only required quiz is the Course Entry Quiz, and we’ll be providing an updated version closer to that time.

To ensure you’re ready to make the most of New Quizzes, we’ve scheduled two training sessions:

Part I - New Quizzes: Bootcamp

(limited space, registration required)
- Monday, March 31, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, Room 3-220
- Wednesday, April 2, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, Room 3-220
(session will be recorded and shared on Canvas Instructor Resources)
- Tuesday, April 1, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, via TEAMS

Part II - New Quizzes: Beyond the Basics

(limited space, registration required)
- Wednesday, April 23, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, Room 3-220
(session will be recorded and shared on Canvas Instructor Resources)
- Tuesday, April 22, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, via TEAMS

Open Office Hours for Hands-On Support

After attending the Bootcamp training, if you need additional assistance, we’ll be holding open office hours:

Thursday, April 3, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: In-person at 9-219 and virtually.

We’ll have a couple of computers available, but bringing your own personal device is recommended for a more effective session.

New Quizzes offers exciting new features that will streamline the quiz creation process, improve grading functionality, and provide a better experience for both instructors and students.
